PLASTIFORM COMES IN 3 MAIN INITIAL CONSISTENCIES
Fluid - With a liquid consistency, these products are self-placing and can be poured easily, even in very small details (thread, small bore...). They are recommended for internal total casts, and for applications requiring flowing material.
Pasty - Non-flowing, these products are used for sectorial casts (internal or external), and can be applied on vertical or overhead surfaces.
Manual - With a modeling clay consistency, these products are mixed and applied by hand, to create external or internal sectorial casts.
THE PRODUCTS WILL CURE TO DIFFERENT FINAL CONSISTENCY / HARDNESS
Flexible - They accept a strong Removal Constraint (up to 40%). The impression can be misshaped and stretched to be removed from its mould, then it will return to its original shape. How to control the impression : Non-Contact Measurement (optical control, profile projector, laser scan…).
Semi-Flexible - They accept a low Removal Constraint (up to 20%). The impression can be slightly misshaped to be removed from its mould, and return to its original shape. How to control the impression : Non-Contact Measurement (optical control, profile projector, laser scan…) with the help of the Twin Blade Cutter.
Semi-Rigid / Rigid - They do not accept any Removal Constraint, because of their rigidity. How to control the impression : Contact or Non-Contact Measurement (caliper, micrometer, optical control, profile projector, laser scan…).
Types of Application
INTERNAL COMPLEX FORMS - it is now possible to easily inspect and measure internal complex features ( thread, groove, radius…), by creating an internal complete impression.

INTERNAL SIMPLE FORMS - When no undercuts or complex shapes are present inside the part, it is possible to choose a more rigid product, as the impression does not have to be misshaped to be removed.

EXTERNAL COMPLEX FORMS - PLASTIFORM has developed less liquid products, more suitable for taking a sectorial replica cast of external complex forms

INDIRECT ROUGHNESS TESTING - PLASTIFORM is capable of copying the roughness of a surface (which is sometimes not accessible for measuring instruments) and transcribing it identically on the imprint.
VISUAL SURFACE INSPECTION - PLASTIFORM has developed the F30 Visual. Thanks to its black colour, it copies and retransmits the surface details in a way that it is easier to control, so that even the slightest defect can be quickly detected.
PROTECTION, MASKING & SEALING - PLASTIFORM, thanks to their technical characteristics, are able to create tailor-made protections for one or more parts to be treated.
FIXING, CLAMPING & STRENGTHENING - During the machining steps, it is common for some thin parts to vibrate or deform slightly. To limit this it is possible to use a plastiform to reinforce them. They are easy to apply, quickly harden and are easy to extract after machining
